The present study determined the fixation capacity of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) by the diametric class of the urban tree species of the Punchana district, where the trees of the 20 randomly selected blocks were identified and inventoried, the botanical samples and the shaft of the trees were collected, The botanical samples were pressed, assembled and identified in the AMAZON HERBAL, the samples of shafts were processed in the CIRNA laboratory to obtain the density. The results show that 60 trees were found, belonging to 9 species of 7 different families, which one the species with the greatest fixation of Terminalia catappa L. "Castañilla" with an average of 3.83 kg / tree. It was detailed by pictures and figures, its predominances, physiological characteristics, location and the species with the highest and lowest CO2 fixation capacity. To specify the CO2 data, use the ANOVA and Tukey method at 95% confidence, It is concluded that the hypothesis is accepted that the capacity of fixation of CO2 is related to the shaft compaction and DBH of trees, this shows that the greater the diameter, the greater the fixation.
