This research seeks to know and identify customs of the community under study by gender (men and women), on climate change in the city of Tamshiyacu, Fernando Lores district. The population consisted of 90 families, from which a representative sample of 30 families was selected; we worked with randomly selected people and for being older inhabitants in the community; In addition, a sample of convenience was chosen, since the characteristics of this population do not present large differences with respect to the objective of the research. Data were obtained directly from people, by means of a survey sheet previously prepared; Heads of household were interviewed (male and female). The results obtained show that the knowledge that rural men and women possess in Tamshiyacu are identical about climate change and are directly related to gender roles and to the conditions of access and control they have over natural resources; this is linked to the residence time in the area by the couple. The most important climatic factor identified is the temperature, which causes the work in the farm to decrease, the higher temperatures due to deforestation are felt more, the harvests are carried out after its time and the periods of greater load of work, especially in the fruiting of their traditional fruit trees. Regarding the strategies for adaptation to climate change, they say that the management of “purmas” should be carried out, with enrichment of them as “improved fallows”, there should be improvement of family gardens that are productive places run by women, harvest.
