This paper analysis and design of the network infrastructure for the Regional Hospital of Loreto "Felipe Arriola." Was held to solve the problems found in the media used within the institution. This problem was lack of growth control network, wiring is not structured or protected, the transmission rate is too low. Currently the institution has more than one hundred seventy (170) users with computer stations and some network printers. The distribution of the equipment is made without prior analysis and according to the need of the hour. It’s not projected to future users or percentage of growth areas. For this reason a design that aims to appropriate distribution of network devices and network points of each area at each of the different buildings of the Hospital Campus is developed. It is also proposed a physical and logical design of data across the network of the Hospital and finally a simulation of the proposed network infrastructure will be made, to display improvements to implement. One of the proposed alternatives to improve speed is to implement a gigabit backbone composed of managed switches that use high performance Category 6 structured cabling and fiber optic according to distance from buildings. For the development of this paper the methodology Descending (Top Down) was used with an optimal data network achieved, improving the flow of information and communication with servers, based on the advantages offered by the use of network devices such as equipment manageable layer 2 Switch and Cable UTP category 6, 5e and fiber optics; this will allow the LAN achieve the main benefits: reliability, scalability, security, access control in the coverage area around the campus of the Hospital and especially the possibility of growth into other areas so we can have a better network management.
