Abstract

The theme was “Perception of the segregation of solid waste in the home, by families of the Bello Horizonte Human Settlement, District of San Juan Bautista. Loretto. 2019. The objectives were: To analyze the perception of the segregation of solid waste within the home, in families of the Bello Horizonte Human Settlement, District of San Juan Bautista. Loretto. 2019, as well as to know the general perception about the benefits of the segregation of solid waste within the home, and to inquire about the environmental benefits of the segregation of solid waste. The type of research was descriptive, quantitative, and exploratory. Convenience sampling was used in 2 avenues of the AAHH Bello Horizonte where the sample was selected with surveys of 87 owners. The results obtained from the surveys were interpreted through descriptive statistics. The variables evaluated were: knowledge about solid waste (ideas about solid waste segregation, participation of people in segregation and social problems of the subject), environmental attitudes (benefits of separating solid waste, responsibilities, sanctions and incentives for carrying out the activity, etc). It is concluded that the activity on the segregation of solid waste, is that if the population has the necessary elements to carry out the separation such as: adequate containers (not only in their homes but in the street); clarity in the information provided; collaboration of all members in domestic tasks; and incentives (not necessarily financial), waste separation could have a better response. So the separation is perceived as an environmental good that would occur in the long term, as a shared responsibility: the separation begins in the homes, but it must be concluded by the government or institutions in charge of this action.

El tema fue “Percepción de la segregación de residuos sólidos en el hogar, por familias del Asentamiento Humano Bello Horizonte, Distrito de San Juan Bautista. Loreto. 2019. Los objetivos fueron: Analizar la percepción sobre la segregación de residuos sólidos dentro del hogar, en familias del Asentamiento Humano Bello Horizonte, Distrito de San Juan Bautista. Loreto. 2019, así como conocer la percepción general sobre los beneficios de la segregación de residuos sólidos dentro del hogar, e indagar sobre los beneficios ambientales de la segregación de residuos sólidos. El tipo de investigación fue descriptiva, cuantitativa, y exploratoria. Se usó el muestreo conveniencia en 2 avenidas del AAHH Bello Horizonte donde se seleccionó la muestra con encuestas a 87 propietarios. Los resultados obtenidos de las encuestas se interpretaron a través de la estadística descriptiva. Las variables evaluadas fueron: conocimiento sobre residuos sólidos (idea sobre la segregación de residuos sólidos, participación de las personas en la segregación y problemas sociales del tema), actitudes ambientales (beneficios de separar los residuos sólidos, responsabilidades, sanciones e incentivos por realizar la actividad, etc.). Se concluye que la actividad sobre la segregación de los residuos sólidos, es que si la población cuenta con los elementos necesarios para llevar a cabo la separación como: adecuados contenedores (no sólo en sus hogares sino en la calle); claridad en la información proporcionada; colaboración de todos los miembros en las tareas domésticas; e incentivos (no necesariamente económicos), la separación de residuos podría tener una mejor respuesta. Entonces la separación se percibe como un bien ambiental que se daría a largo plazo, como responsabilidad compartida: la separación se inicia en los hogares, pero debe ser concluida por el gobierno u instituciones encargadas de esta acción.
