The report of the work of professional sufficiency that is presented, whose title is impact on the mental health of the nursing professional who cares for patients with COVID-19 Regional Hospital of Loreto Iquitos 2020, has the objective of describing the repercussions on the mental health of the nursing professionals who worked in the Emergency service of the Regional Hospital of Loreto in the city of Iquitos, a team of which I am honored to have been a part, during the crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic, where the preponderant and vital role that has been played by being in the front line of the fight against this pandemic is recognized, where some fell ill and even passed away. The descriptive and retrospective methodology was used. The population is made up of 10 nursing professionals (nine Nursing graduates and one Bachelor of Nursing), of both sexes, to whom three standardized instruments were applied: the Nursing Stress Scale (NSS), the frustration tolerance scale and the fear test. The results show that 70% showed a high level of stress, 70% qualified with intolerance to frustration and 50% showed high feelings of fear; concluding that, the majority of nursing professionals showed negative repercussions on mental health during the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
