Our concern for developing a research topic is born by observing the behavior of trade in the city of Iquitos for the period 2009-2013 as a result of the opening of direct international flights, seeking to identify business opportunities. The idea was further consolidated coming to concretize the development of a research paper to analyze direct imports and their impact on business activity in the city of Iquitos, to identify business opportunities. In the development of the subject and analyzing the problems we come to ask ourselves What variable has greater influence on the business of the city of Iquitos, during the period 2009-2013 ?, reaching obtain our general objective is based on identifying the variable that generates greater influence on the business of the city of Iquitos. Later, we encountered some setbacks for model identification, analysis and identification of the variables that allow us to generate a contribution to the work that had been developed. After a hard analysis, we identified that the type of our research is correlational, using the Ordinary Least Squares model - MCO, as it allowed us to measure the degree of relationship between direct imports of total imports. The variables that were identified as significant for analysis in imports were: direct imports, indirect imports and the real exchange rate. The results we found in our research, respond to the assumptions made therein, further noting that direct imports reflect a greater positive effect on the behavior of total imports. In that sense, it has been verified that direct imports during the 2009-2013 period consist mainly of goods for oil activities, and imports of consumer goods such as clothing and footwear.
