The aim was to study the Mathematical Logical Reasoning ability within a group of first- year students at a private university in Lima, given that this field constitutes a vital tool in the academic development of every university student. The overall aim was to determine the level of Mathematical Logical Reasoning among first-year students at a private university in Lima, establishing the level of Mathematical Logical Reasoning in students according to gender, the criteria associated with the course they were studying, and by age. The research consists of a basic, descriptive investigation. The results show that 54 male students, out of a total of 82, obtained satisfactory to very good grades, with an average of 12.72, which is higher than the average for the women’s group. Likewise, 53 students out of 80 in engineering majors earned a satisfactory to a very good score. The difference in averages was highest among students who are studying engineering majors compared to those who are not, with the engineering students obtaining a score of 12.90 higher than the average for students enrolled in non-engineering majors. Finally, among students who are 18 years old or more, 37 students out of a total of 46 obtained satisfactory to very good grades; while among students aged 16 to 17, 46 students out of a total of 73 attained satisfactory to very good grades. The difference in averages was highest among students, 18 and older, compared to those who are not, with an average for 18-year-old and older students that is more than 12.74 above the average for the group of students aged 16 and 17.
