The main objective of this research was to determine the impact of the application of an experimental model of pedagogical accompaniment (the Strategic Pedagogical Accompaniment [SPA]) on the perception of success of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP), according to the fifth grade teachers at Lord Byron School, La Molina (Lima, Peru), by the end of the 2017 school year. The study was developed under the quantitative approach, with an applied and explanatory/causal research. The questions raised regarding the effectiveness of the proposed accompaniment model were answered using the hypothetico-deductive method, under a quasi-experimental design. Each group, the experimental and control one, had four teachers each, responding to pre and post test questionnaires by the end of the accompaniment process. This questionnaire corresponds to own adaptation of an official world research about the indicators of success in the PYP (Kong & Sperandio, 2013). The validity and reliability of this questionnaire, as well as the one applied on the efficacy of the proposed accompaniment model, were tested before expert judgment and processing by means of the statistical package SPSS V. 19. The data processing followed the same steps. The final results of the research showed, at 95 % confidence, that the proposed pedagogical accompaniment impacts positively on the perception of success of the PYP, in all its dimensions (teacher and student category), with a greater impact on the teacher's perception of efficacy about their own labor.
