The objective of this research work was the present study demonstrates that there is a relationship between the indirect strategies of learning and academic performance in the area of English in third grade students high school of the Cesar Vallejo Educational Institution, UGEL 06, Lurigancho- Chosica 2016. For this, a questionnaire was designed and validated by expert judgment for variable 1 and the 2016 transcript of variable 2. The research approach used was the non-experimental quantitative. The method used was descriptive with a design correlational. The sample was 26 students of the third grade of the secondary level. Of the descriptive statistics, it can be seen that there is a scale academic performance, for thus, an expected accomplishment over the course of the school year. Once finished the information processing, the corresponding analysis was carried out, the same one that led to the conclusion that the study variables were related in a significant. Spearman's Rho coefficient yielded 0.671, which is interpreted as a medium positive correlation.
