In this present research work, the purpose was to determine if there is any relationship between the reading habit in the reading comprehension level of the 3rd grade students of the State Educational Institution 5124 of the Ventanilla district, Callao in 2020. The research used the hypothetical deductive method with a quantitative approach, of a non-experimental correlational-cross-sectional design. We worked with a population of 90 students and the non-probabilistic sample, made up of 30 students. The survey technique was used, through two instruments; a questionnaire for the reading habit variable and an evaluation test for reading comprehension. The SPSS statistical software, Chi Square, was used for statistical analysis, the processing consisted in describing, analyzing, correlating and contrasting the hypotheses raised. The results obtained for both the descriptive statistics and the inferential statistics of the test of the general hypothesis, the value of the Chi Square X2 = 6.216 calculated in the sample was obtained and which is lower than the X2 = 12.59 of tables, it concluded that the null hypothesis cannot be rejected, and therefore, It cannot be accepted that the habit of reading is significantly related to the level of reading comprehension of the 3rd grade students of the sample.
