The objective of this research work was to determine the way in which teacher leadership is linked to academic performance in students in the second grade of secondary education of the I. E. 1226 Sol de Vitarte Lima - 2019. For methodological purposes, we worked with a quantitative, descriptive type – correlational, non-experimental – transversal design. As for the population, it was made up of 66 students from the second grade of secondary education at I.E. 1226 Sol de Vitarte Lima – 2019. With non-probabilistic sampling. The sample was census, that is, 66 students. Regarding the instrument for collecting information, the survey was used, applying 2 questionnaires. The results indicated that of the 66 respondents, second grade students of the Educational Institution 1226 Sol de Vitarte, 63.6% (42) considered that the leadership of their teachers is at a moderate level, likewise 21.2% (14) stated that teaching leadership is at a high level; finally, 15.2% (10) stated that teaching leadership is at a very high level. Therefore, it was concluded with a correlation coefficient of Spearman's Rho = 0.643, with a p = 0.015 (p < 0.05), which is statistically evidenced as a significant positive moderate correlation between teacher leadership and academic performance in the students of the Second Grade of Secondary Education of the I.E. 1226 Sol de Vitarte Lima-2019.
