The objective of this research work is to establish the relationship between iron intake and hemoglobin values of pregnant women from the Maternal and Child Health Center of Huaura, Peru-2019. The study was framed within the quantitative approach, with a correlational design. The study population consisted of 75 pregnant women from the El Socorro de Huaura Maternal and Child Health Center, a census-type sample was used. The instruments used to collect information on the research variables were: the food consumption frequency questionnaire, the 24-hour recall questionnaire, and the clinical history of each pregnant woman during the 2019 period. The results showed that 61.3% of the pregnant women had low iron intake and 38.7% had high iron intakes. Regarding hemoglobin values, 58.7% of the pregnant women had normal values, 24.0% had mild anemia and 17.3% had moderate anemia. Through the statistical test of Chi square with a significance of 95.0% (0.005) and degree of freedom equal to 1, the general hypothesis was tested, the value of p = 0.000 being less than the level of significance and the value r = 1, therefore, the null hypothesis was rejected and the alternative was accepted, concluding that there is a significant positive relationship between iron intake and hemoglobin levels in pregnant women.
