Students have always had difficulties to understand and develop the practical part of the descriptive geometry course, this situation continues to present itself to date because the notes of the written tests and the exams taken have failing marks in an average of 70% in students Engineering. The objective is to go from the emphasis of teaching to the emphasis of learning, from the execution of an informational process to a formative process. There are national and international antecedents on work of this nature and that have excellent results in performance. Problems are solved first and then the theoretical part is given. The key is in collaborative learning and teamwork. There are two variables: problem-based learning methodology and descriptive geometry competencies. The focus of the research will be quantitative and the design is quasi-experimental because it studies the relationship between the two variables and in the broad sense of the word means what does not occur in one without the other. In this investigation, the quasi-experimental method will be used, in addition, it is a scientific method that contains the statement of the problem, theoretical aspects, variable hypotheses and the methodology. The student population is made up of 40 students who are enrolled in the descriptive geometry course and represent 100% of the population. The research technique will be the application of knowledge tests for processing, descriptive statistics will be used for the data.
