The objective of this research work was to analyze the labor characteristics, distribution and density of nursing human resources in the Ministry of Health, Peru - 2023. This is a descriptive study of basic research whose purpose is the analysis of secondary sources, to which used information from the Human Resources Observatory of the Ministry of Health of Peru, the College of Nurses of Peru and the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics. The study population consisted of nursing staff from the Ministry of Health and Regional Governments registered during the year 2023. The technique of observation and analysis of secondary sources was used through data collection sheets and calculation sheets. Based on the results obtained, it is concluded that nursing professionals constitute the largest occupational group in the health system, followed by doctors and obstetricians. Its workforce is predominantly female and relatively young, being less than 35 years of age. Its main employer is the Ministry of Health and Regional Governments; and, its distribution is unequal, concentrating on the second and third levels of health care.
