The objective of this research work was the present study was entitled as Teaching Strategies and Competences in Accounting Students of the I.S.T.P. Cyrus Joy. Tarapoto, San Martin 2019. One of its objectives was the main objective of determining the relationship of teaching strategies with the competences in accounting students of the I.S.T.P. Cyrus Happiness. Tarapoto, San Martin 2019. The research was carried out under a quantitative, of a correlational type and with a non-experimental design. Regarding the sample of study were the 60 students of the technical accounting career to whom the as a data collection instrument a questionnaire of questions. The results found have allowed to identify the level of teaching strategies, which was qualified as inadequate by 48% of those surveyed, as regular level by 34% and suitable for 18% of the students. While the level of competencies shown reflects that 50% is at a low level, 27% is at a medium level and 23% at a high level. At the end of the investigation it was concluded accepting the general hypothesis. This is for the same reason as the bilateral significance value found in the test Spearman's Rho statistic was less than the allowable margin of error of 0.05 (0.000).
