The objective of this research was to relate the variables of appreciation of the mural and aesthetic knowledge, based on the information obtained through a questionnaire in which the students of the Faculty of Artistic Education of the VI cycle of the Universidad Nacional Diego Quispe Tito del Cusco, from now on UNDQT, participated. The research uses the mural painting located inside the monument to the Inca Pachakuteq in the district of Santiago de Cusco as the subject of its investigation. This research is based on the lack of studies in the Cusco region that evidence the interaction between mural appreciation and aesthetic knowledge; this, despite the fact that appreciation is a specific component in university art education. The research used a non-experimental design, since it was carried out without a deliberate manipulation of the variables, and the information was obtained through the technique of the survey carried out on a group of 57 students from the VI cycle of the UNDQT's Faculty of Education. Its data collection instrument was the questionnaire, which was applied with closed questions to a focused group after previous learning sessions on appreciation of mural painting and aesthetic knowledge. The type of research was applied, while the method was descriptive correlative because it related phenomena to each other, where the behavior of one variable was related to the behavior of the other.
