Professional competencies are defined as a set of skills that the teacher develops effectively in a classroom. It is also associated with human relationships because it not only controls the class but also the classroom climate. The objective of this work was to analyze the relationship that exists between professional competence and human relations in preschool teachers. The study was developed under the correlational design and the sample was made up of 85 initial education teachers from the Callao Region. To assess teacher competence, the quantitative self-assessment questionnaire of teacher competence was used, developed by Alcalá, Antino, Calles, Castaño, Gallego, Rojo, Hernández, Hernández, Herreros de Tejada, Martinez, Pérez and Ruiz (2016) and also the teacher's human relations questionnaire, developed by Beiza (2012). From the analysis of the data, it is inferred with a significance level of 0.05 that there is a statistically significant relationship between professional teaching competence and human relations at the initial education level. It is concluded that teaching competences is an important factor to develop good human relationships, because it generates a positive perception of their competences.
