The objective of this research is to verify the incidence of punctuation marks in the production of expository texts, in students of the first grade of Secondary Education at the Santa María Goretti Educational Institution N ° 0059 - Ñaña, 2018. The research method it was non-experimental; the approach was quantitative and the design used was cross-correlational. A sample of 25 students from the mentioned institution was obtained; the research technique was the survey and a test of punctuation marks was applied. The reliability test was carried out with Cronbach's Alpha, the normality test was carried out through the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and the inferential analysis was carried out through the difference of means.This research concludes by noting that there is a significant difference between the experimental and control groups, in favor of the first, in students of the first year of secondary school, of the EI María Goretti, Ñaña-Lurigancho, UGEL 06.
