The objective of this research work is to determine the relationship between the nutritional quality of the diet and the nutritional status of the elderly in the Fraternity Divina Providencia Hogar "Santa María de la Esperanza" Lurigancho - Chosica. The methodology used was quantitative, descriptive with a non-experimental and cross-sectional correlational design. The sample consisted of 52 older adults who were 60 years of age or older; Direct weighing of food and anthropometry were used as techniques to collect data. The results found were that the Spearman's Rho correlation coefficient showed = 0.296, which according to the statistical correlation scales indicates that there is a low-level positive relationship between the nutritional quality of the diet and the nutritional status. In the same way, a relationship was also found with a Rho Spearman value of 0.343, which indicates a low-level positive relationship with respect to energy consumption and nutritional status, but no relationship was found between nutritional status and the consumption of macronutrients and micronutrients. in older adults evaluated. It was concluded that there is a correlation between the two study variables, so we can say that the better the nutritional quality of the diet, the better the nutritional status of the elderly in the divine providence home Santa María de la Esperanza fraternity , Lurigancho-Chosica.
