The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between social skills and self-esteem in the students of the secondary school of the Educational Institution "Republic of Ecuador" Villa Mara del Triunfo, Lima, 2019. The focus was on a quantitative investigation, with correlational level, basic type, and non-experimental design. The population was composed of 292 second grade students, of which a census sample was taken, to which two questionnaires were applied, one of 25 questions and the second of 50 questions, with a scale of five categories of answers referring to both variables. These instruments had a strong reliability of 0.842 and 0.942, respectively. The analysis corresponding to the results of the questionnaire was carried out. It was found that there is a significant relationship between social skills and self-esteem in the second grade secondary school students of the Educational Institution “Republic of Ecuador” Villa María del Triunfo Lima, 2019. (p < 0.05, Spearman's Rho correlation = 0.683 ** being a high positive correlation).
