The objective of this research work is to make known “… Our dance is traditional. The scissors dance has four rhythms, the scissors, the dance, the jumps, the clothing ”says:“ Chico Lucifer ”(Edilberto Ñahuincopa Hilario) in an interview for the Caretas Magazine back in 2015, he was just 32 years old executing this traditional dance. What's more, Edilberto, remembers that it is a family theme, his parents, grandparents, uncles and cousins are scissors dancers. It was her grandmother who taught her when she was just 8 years old there in the populated center of Rantay, Lircay, Huancavelica. Says the title of a text: "When Christ dies the Andean gods go out for a walk" whose author is Rodrigo Montoya Rojas, who makes an ethnographic study of the scissors dance in the various regions where they are practiced, Huancavelica, Ayacucho and Apurímac where he does approximations of an ethnographic vision of this traditional dance from the southern region of Peru. Following the ethnographic investigative vein, this work collects the information of those characters who have given their lives and their time to continue with this tradition that dates back to pre colonial times. We collect invaluable data that allows us to narrow down a broader vision of the scissors dance in terms of its mysticism, creativity and challenges before, during and after its execution. Key words: Scissors dance: creativity, ritual and challenges
