This work presents a systematic process developed to improve the selection of locations for retail stores in urban areas of Lima. We focus on formalizing and standardizing practices already used by several companies in the sector. Through the strategic analysis of public data such as demographics, population density, traffic flows and per capita income, we propose a standardized tool that simplifies decision making without requiring costly traditional market studies. Our approach seeks to unify the scattered and empirical methodologies currently used by different retail companies, providing a common ground that allows small and medium-sized entrepreneurs to efficiently evaluate potential locations for their retail businesses. The objective is to overcome the economic and temporal limitations of conventional methods, thus democratizing the business expansion process in Lima's competitive urban market. This allows companies to adapt quickly to market opportunities and effectively meet consumer needs and preferences. By proposing a standardized tool based on the formalization of processes already existing in different companies, our study aims to make a significant contribution to the retail field. We offer a coherent and unified strategy that improves the chances of business success in the choice of locations. This systematic approach to determining retail store locations is not only a breakthrough in formalizing intuitive and diverse practices, but also opens the door to its application in a wide range of retail environments. It ensures that retailers can optimize their investments and successfully navigate Lima's dynamic urban environment.
