Introduction: Digital tomosynthesis is an advanced study that overcomes the limitations presented in digital mammography. Given that in patients with mammoplasty there is overlapping glandular tissue, this study helps discern the structures for interpretation, highlighting the importance of technical considerations in these cases. Objective: To describe the technical considerations for imaging in digital tomosynthesis studies in women undergoing mammoplasty in a private center, Lima, 2023. Description of work: Having identified the limitations in digital tomosynthesis studies in patients with mammoplasty, scientific literature reviews were investigated to improve the technique, providing technical considerations for adequate positioning of the breast and technical parameters used. Main findings: It was evident that the breast implant retraction technique (Eklund) and the application of the technical parameters improved the presentation of the digital tomosynthesis study, improving the visualization of the mammographic images. Conclusions: Considering the characteristics of the implant, an appropriate breast positioning technique and technical parameters can be carried out to benefit patients with mammoplasty, as well as the reduction of the radiation dose, ensuring radiological protection.
