Objective: To identify the most relevant clinical characteristics in the medical records of patients with a definitive diagnosis of Posterior Collapse of the Bite, treated at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels of the Teaching Dental Clinic of the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia from 2016 to 2019. Materials and methods: This study was descriptive and cross-sectional. The variables studied were: age, sex, dental tissue, periodontal tissue, occlusion, temporomandibular joint, muscle tissue and radiographic level. The virtual medical records of the patients attended at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels of the Clinica Dental Docente from January 2016 to December 2019 were used. Results: 118 virtual clinical histories with definitive diagnosis of posterior bite collapse were reviewed, where it was observed that the most relevant clinical characteristics with the highest frequency were: partial lower edentulism with 92.37%, periodontal disease with 83.17%, alteration of the occlusal plane had 81.37%, horizontal bone resorption presented 37.5%. Conclusions: The most relevant characteristics were: female sex, adults, lower partial edentulism, periodontal disease, alteration of the occlusal plane, horizontal bone resorption.
