Background: Cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL) is an endemic tropical infection that produces a broad clinical spectrum. Diagnosis involves both clinical and auxiliary examinations. There are different treatment modalities. Objectives: To describe the sociodemographic, clinical, diagnosis, treatment and clinical evolution characteristics in patients diagnosed with CL. Materials and methods: A retrospective study of patients with CL treated between 2012 and 2022 was conducted. The database was analyzed using Stata 18 to describe the observations and relate variables. Results: The study analyzed 1 523 patients, with a male predominance (68.5%) and a mean age of 35 years. Lima reported most cases (22,6%). Localized leishmaniasis was the most common, with single lesions in 61,12%, predominantly ulcers. The most used diagnostic methods were direct smear and leishmanin skin test. Treatments included pentavalent antimonials (51.65%), with high cure rates both in monotherapy (86.77%) and in combination (93.84%). A notable improvement was seen in children under 5 years of age with combination therapy. The cure rate was higher for andean LC (92%) compared to jungle LC (79.9%). Conclusions: The clinical manifestation and therapeutic response are linked to sociodemographic variables, mainly age. Diagnostic and therapeutic methods offer high performance; however, it is important to standardize follow-up programs.
