The problem of this research arose from a common interest in active training in higher education, which implies the proactive participation of the participant in their learning, which was evidenced through research reports; This problem has an impact on the deterioration of the quality of university academic training, especially in the learning of mathematics. Currently, motivation to master and use technological tools is necessary for teachers in various areas. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to describe the scientific production that exists on the use of GeoGebra software in the teaching-learning process in mathematics for higher education students. The methodology consisted of a qualitative approach whose design is the documentary analysis of this topic. The procedure was carried out through an exhaustive search of the literature in which open access academic search engines and key terms were used for an effective search of sources on the topic. The documentary analysis focuses on key aspects, such as the pedagogical strategies used, available resources, perceived benefits and limitations, as well as the academic results obtained. The policies and programs implemented to promote the use of GeoGebra in higher educational institutions in Peru will also be examined. The results show the effectiveness of using the GeoGebra software in different mathematical functions, concluding that said software facilitates the teaching-learning process of mathematics at a higher level.
