Introduction: Mammography is the prime study to diagnose breast cancer, the quality of mammography is directly related to the ability to detect abnormalities, however non-compliance with technical recommendations causes diagnostic quality images not to be obtained. Objective: To describe the technical considerations applied in digital mammograms to ensure quality images in breast cancer screening in a Private Clinic in Lima, between the months of August to October 2021. Description of Work: In the experience of performing the mammographic studies, technical aspects were evidenced that did not meet the recommendations of the American College of Radiology (ACR: “American College of Radiology”), reflected in the low quality of some images obtained. It is proposed to adopt ACR recommendations to obtain diagnostic quality images for breast cancer screening and these are: the prior patient interview and the information provided about the study process, the proper positioning, the correct compression of the breast and exposure factors. Conclusion: The application of technical considerations in digital mammograms proposed by the ACR allows obtaining diagnostic quality images at low exposure doses for breast cancer screening and optimizes care in patients.
