Background: Hepatitis B is a cause of great concern for public health. In vulnerable populations such as HIV-infected patients, it poses a high risk of morbidity and mortality. Objective: Determine the knowledge and attitudes regarding vaccination against Hepatitis B in patients living with HIV at the Cayetano Heredia National Hospital. Materials and method: A prospective cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out, 372 patients with HIV infection treated in PROCETSS (Program for Control of Sexually Transmitted Diseases and AIDS) who attend the Infectious and Tropical Diseases Service of the Cayetano National Hospital were surveyed. Heredia and the information collected was saved as a virtual database (Excel) for subsequent statistical evaluation through scientific software. Results: Good knowledge regarding Hepatitis B (80% correct answers) and gaps regarding vaccination (40% correct answers) were evident. Regarding attitudes, there was a good willingness on the part of the participants (90% in agreement with the aforementioned behaviors) to continue informing themselves, get vaccinated and recognize Hepatitis B as a potential risk in their lives. Conclusion: There was good reception and inclination towards vaccination against Hepatitis B, the participants and the general population would benefit from more information about it and there is interest and willingness in the prevention of Hepatitis B.
