Introduction: The results of critical values in a clinical laboratory require immediate notification to the doctor responsible for the patient, since they indicate potentially life-threatening conditions. For this reason, the laboratory must have a procedure to report critical values. Objectives: Describe the strategies used to report critical values in the hematology laboratory of a Level III-I Hospital located in Lima, Peru during 2023. Work description: Critical values in the hematology laboratory were reported following the following activities: Identification, review of the veracity of the sample and appropriate processes, discarding possible false ones, review of the patient's history, validation in the LIS system, communication and delivery of the results of critical values to the professional responsible for the patient in their respective area, which contributed to efficient and timely clinical care. Conclusion: Making timely and assertive decisions in health is due to correct management of critical values, therefore it is necessary for the clinical laboratory to have strategies to report results with critical values.
