Introduction: A sedentary lifestyle or physical inactivity is an important issue to address today, as more and more elderly adults become dependent for their activities of daily living. Active exercises at different levels of resistance should be part of the physiotherapy treatment and thus improve performance in our patients. Objective: Describe the considerations for the active exercise routine to reduce sedentary lifestyle in two elderly adults with Parkinson's disease and parkinsonism from two clinics in Lima metropolitan area during the period of July-December 2023 Description of the experience: The present professional sufficiency paper describes the considerations for the application of active exercises within the treatment protocol in two elderly adults with Parkinson's disease and parkinsonism. According to different studies found throughout our research, they support the importance and benefits of this type of treatment for the elderly. Conclusions: In response to the question, the considerations for the application of active exercises in the elderly to reduce sedentary lifestyles were strength training, balance and flexibility exercises, individualization of exercise prescription, amount of exercise, load progression, and adherence to the exercise program. These considerations had a positive effect on our patients, reflecting improvements in their activities of daily living.
