Background: It is estimated that in 2021 some 10.6 million people fell ill with tuberculosis around the world and 1.6 million died. Peru is one of the countries with the highest number of cases within the American continent, making it a disease subject to epidemiological surveillance. Household contacts of patients with tuberculosis are at risk of acquiring the disease, which is why the technical health standard for people affected with tuberculosis establishes the study of contacts where health personnel provide the necessary information to prevent tuberculosis. Objectives: Determine the knowledge and practices on prevention in household contacts of patients with pulmonary tuberculosis in two health facilities, Lima 2022. Material and Methods: The study is descriptive and cross-sectional; in which we worked with 77 household contacts of patients with pulmonary tuberculosis to whom an instrument created by the researchers was applied and which was validated through expert judgment and a pilot test. Results: It was found that 49.35% of household contacts have average knowledge, and 68.83% of household contacts indicated inappropriate practices against tuberculosis. Conclusion: It was found that average knowledge prevailed in the majority of participants, as well as inadequate practices.
