During the operational verification of a gas chromatograph, customers often question whether a simple standards verification for the detectors can ensure proper chromatograph performance during their analyses. However, the operational verification of a gas chromatograph involves a series of criteria in chromatography and criteria for the proper evaluation of a chromatographic system. This includes the correct handling of the gas chromatograph as well as the control software. Therefore, the goal is to optimize this operational verification process in gas chromatograph analyzers. At Analytical, a company specializing in analytical and technical support services for laboratory equipment, I work as the head of the gas chromatograph department. During operational verification, our main goal is to ensure the equipment responds optimally in subsequent analyses. However, the effectiveness of traditional verification depends largely on the detectors used, which determines the type of standard to employ. As part of proposed improvements at Analytical, we suggest a modification in the operational verification procedure of the gas chromatograph, specifically for analyzers. This modification involves using the client's specific standard during verification, which would more accurately ensure the equipment responds appropriately to the client's analytical demands. This change in the verification process has been evaluated in terms of its feasibility, convenience, and viability for the client, and we have everything necessary to perform and replicate it. From the client's perspective, this proposal would result in cost savings as they would not need to purchase an additional standard; instead, they would use the same standard employed in their regular analyses.
