The study arose from the need to validate diagnostic risk factors for overweight risk in the national school population. Background: Vieira (2016) in the "a device using to detect overweight adolescents at school", shows among the risk factors habits such as frequent snacks, physical activity, family history; he states that nutritional assessment instruments only consider anthropometric variables (7). Huamaní on "the knowledge of young people about obesity and food practices of high school adolescents 2014", the objective is to determine the level of knowledge of young people, obtained that 53% are in the middle on risk factors 45%; 57% have an inadequate practice and in the consumption of healthy foods 61% do not consume enough healthy foods and unhealthy reaches 55% (9). Sato (1998) modified the M. Fhering due to cultural and training differences of nurses in Japan. Objective: To determine the validity of the risk factors for ED "risk of overweight" in the school population. Material and methods: Quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional design. It used Fehring's method for validity by expert judgment; the population was nurses with expertise in school and/or community health, as well as in ED. Results: It was necessary to modify the M. Fhering, due to the low number of nurses with doctorates, who conduct research and work in primary care; according to the modification of 15 experts, 93.3% meet the criteria; only one, 6.7%, does not meet them. Conclusions: M. Fhering had to be adapted to the reality of Peruvian nursing; 9 risk factors that can be modified through nursing interventions, 2 populations at risk and an associated condition of interdisciplinary approach were validated.
