This work is based on the design of a distance training course to enhance the virtual mentoring skills of university professors. The participants were 354 teachers who were in charge of an asynchronous virtual course for the first time. In the development of this training course, the ADDIE instructional design model, developed by the University of Florida in the 1970s, was employed. To ensure the course's objectives, five phases were considered: first, the analysis to identify the training objective, considering participants' characteristics and needs; second, the design of the instructional matrix with the contents and activities to be included; third, the development of materials and their implementation on the platform; fourth, the actual course development; and finally, the evaluation. Additionally, the methodological evaluation results of the trained teachers were considered to assess the course's impact. In conclusion, the results showed that 94% of participants passed the distance course, with 77% being satisfied with the training. Finally, 98.4% find it relevant to their practice.
