The present research addressed the experiences of Primary Education teachers in the transition from face-to-face to virtual teaching, given that unexpected changes occurred in pedagogical practice at the beginning of the year 2020. Consequently, the objective was to understand the experiences of transitioning from face-to-face to virtual teaching among Primary Education teachers in the province of Huaylas - Ancash. Regarding the methodology, a basic-descriptive research was conducted with a qualitative approach and a narrative design. For data collection and analysis, interviews and photovoice were used as research techniques accompanied by a semi-structured interview guide. As a result, it was observed that teachers expressed various emotions during the transition. Additionally, the majority of them attribute great significance and nostalgia to face-to-face teaching. Likewise, they encountered difficulties related to poor connectivity, the absence of cellphones, and the need for contextualization of teaching. However, they achieved success in integrating new strategies and handling digital tools according to the requirements of virtual learning, thus fostering greater student participation and self-confidence. In conclusion, teachers were very accustomed to face-to-face teaching because it provided them with closeness to their students; however, with virtual learning, they experienced an unexpected change as they were not prepared for the different circumstances that challenged them in this transition.
