Canine parvovirus is a complex viral disease that can be fatal. Correct management affects the prognosis of the patient. In our environment there is a deficiency in the diagnosis and management of SIRS and Sepsis. The objectives were focused on the early diagnosis of SIRS, describe the use of ultrasound as an aid in clinical monitoring and describe the comprehensive therapeutic protocols in four canine patients with parvovirosis. The information was obtained from the medical records of the patients, being puppies less than five months old, three males and one female, positive to the canine parvovirosis detection test, with severe gastroenteric symptoms. During hospitalization, continuous ultrasound evaluations, gastric and colonic emptying by tubes were performed, and they received early microenteral feeding. The purpose of this work was to guide the clinician in comprehensive protocols in a simple way to reduce complications in patients with this disease and thus reduce hospitalization time. Similar ultrasound, hematological and symptomatological patterns could be observed in all cases, exacerbation symptoms on similar dates, favorable changes from third to fifth day of hospitalization. The control of physiological constants allowed the identification of the SIRS criteria. From the work we can conclude that between third to fourth day of hospitalization, patients recover their gastroenteric motility, regardless of the dose of prokinetics. Ultrasound is a great monitoring tool together with the review of certain physiological constants that allow us to detect and prevent SIRS, thus being able to establish a correct therapy, increasing the survival of patients.
