Background: Taking care of oral hygiene is important for general health and prevention of oral diseases. Brushing frequency is vital and is influenced by several modifying factors for daily compliance. Objective: Relate the factors that affect the frequency of brushing in children from 1 to 11 years old in Peru in 2020. Materials and Methods: Observational, cross-sectional and descriptive study with 21,406 records of children from 1 to 11 years old from the ENDES 2020 database. Results: Dental care and the use of toothpaste were protective factors, which means that they are associated with a greater frequency of brushing (OR=0.67 and OR=0.492, respectively). Region of residence and personal or family toothbrush use did not show a significant association with brushing frequency. However, the duration of the current brush was associated with a higher brushing frequency, making it a protective factor (OR=0.887). Conclusion: The protective factors for brushing frequency are dental care, area and region of residence, use of toothpaste, use of a personal toothbrush, and brush duration. While we only observed the age factor as a risk factor. Likewise, we can affirm that the factors analyzed have significant representation with a brushing frequency of 2 times a day in the female gender and age group from 1 to 7 years.
