Iron deficiency anemia is a serious public health problem worldwide, particularly childhood anemia associated with the ingestion of nutrients with low iron capacity. The deficiency of this mineral causes harmful effects on the development and improvement of the child. However, this situation can be prevented through the educational intervention of nursing personnel, who can play a key role in the fight against this scourge. For this reason, the research had as. Objective: Determine the effectiveness of the educational intervention in knowledge about iron deficiency anemia in mothers of children from 6 to 35 months at the Peru IV Zone Health Center, San Martín de Porres, Peru - 2022. Material and method: Quantitative approach and pre-experimental design were used. The population was made up of 93 mothers, to whom a survey was carried out by crossing a validated questionnaire as a data collection tool, before and after the educational intervention. Results: that mothers' knowledge about iron deficiency anemia was at a low level of 72.04% before the educational intervention. After the intervention, a revealing progress was observed in the mothers' level of knowledge, with a predominance of 97.85% achieving a high level of knowledge. Conclusion: It was found that the educational intervention managed to effectively increase the level of knowledge of mothers about iron deficiency anemia.
