Tetralogy of Fallot is the most common cyanotic congenital heart disease, and due to its high mortality, corrective surgery is necessary; in a surgical context, there are characteristics and complications that can negatively affect the patient's health. Objectives: Describe preoperative clinical and surgical characteristics and postoperative complications of pediatric patients diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot during the period 2015-2020. Materials and methods: Descriptive study of a case series collected preoperative clinical, surgical characteristics, and complications of 100 postoperative patients with Tetralogy of Fallot at INCOR, which were analyzed using STATA 16. Results: The majority age range was between 2- 6 years (36%), history of palliative surgery in 12% and malnutrition in 25%. The mean preoperative oxygen saturation and hemoglobin were 82.1% and 15.45 g/dl. The most associated heart disease was PCA (20%). The median size of the ventricular septal defect (VSD) was 12mm, and the mean left ventricular ejection fraction was 68.95%. The most commonly used surgical technique was the transannular patch (87%). The main complications were pulmonary insufficiency (83%), pulmonary stenosis (77%) and aortic insufficiency (40%). Mortality was 4%. Conclusions: The majority of patients were preschool boys, without previous palliative surgery, and the most common associated heart disease was PCA, with severe pulmonary stenosis, hypoplastic pulmonary ring and normal pulmonary vasculature. Transannular patch was the most used technique. The most frequent complications were: pulmonary insufficiency, pulmonary stenosis and aortic insufficiency.
