This is a study on the effects of an Intervention Program based on polyphonic enunciation on the comprehension of opinion journalistic argumentative texts in fifth grade secondary school students. Five hypotheses were tested. The quantitative, experimental type research and the design used is quasi-experimental. To determine the effects of the Intervention Program, a validated text called "Objective Comprehension Test" was applied both at the pre-test and post-test levels to an Experimental Group and a Control Group. The sample for each group was 30 students. The parametric test (T-Student) was applied, whose results, when comparing the contrast statistics of the post-test with the pre-test, showed significant changes in the comprehension of journalistic argumentative opinion texts of the Experimental Group compared to the Group of control. Likewise, the application of the Intervention Program in the Experimental Group, allowed to statistically demonstrate that the students manage to identify and understand the different strategies that argumentative texts use in their elaboration, such as macrostructural relations, cohesive relations, argumentative relations, referred speeches and discursive subjects. More than half of all students met the expected level of achievement.
