The present study seeks to determine the efficacy of the intervention "Problem Management Plus (PM+) and to know the degree of general satisfaction in caregivers of children at risk and with developmental delay with symptoms of depression in three districts of Lima. The sample consisted of a total of 33 women (mothers) who met the inclusion criteria of presenting symptoms of mild major depression (according to the patient health questionnaire - Phq 9) and not showing any impairment that would allow them to receive the intervention. The program was designed by the World Health Organization in 2016, is made up of five individual sessions with a duration of 90 minutes each, whose control was given through home visits, which allowed direct contact with the beneficiary, establishing rapport and adherence to the intervention; also, the delivery of the practice application sheets was facilitated for its development; questionnaires specific to the strategy, unstructured interviews and satisfaction surveys were used in the screening, enrollment and follow-up phase. The results found during the 5 intervention sessions in stress coping capacity, coping and problem-solving strategies, behavioral activation in the face of depressive symptoms, and social support networks, demonstrate the progressive and gradual average reduction of the symptomatology of mild major depression (from 11 to 3). In conclusion, it is demonstrated that the Problem Management Plus (PM+) intervention is effective in reducing depressive symptoms and generates satisfaction, as it proposes coping tools.
