The present investigation focuses on determining the availability of essential medicines that are included in the Single National Request for Medicines approved for the years 2015 and 2018 - (PNUME), used for the treatment of depressive disorders, generalized anxiety and sleep disorders, in Cajamarca, at the Cajamarca Regional Teaching Hospital. Methodology: descriptive research with a quantitative approach. Data on consumption and stock of essential medicines to treat depressive disorders, generalized anxiety and sleep disorders in the level II-2 hospital will be analyzed. Retrospective due to the collection of historical data. Results: the percentage of the level of monthly availability of the essential medicines used for depressive disorders, general anxiety, and sleep disorders in the Hospital Regional Docente de Cajamarca showed that twenty-four months presented a low level of availability (< 70 %), thirteen months with regular availability (≥ 70 % and < 80 %), fourteen months with high level (≥ 80% and < 90%) and seventeen months with optimal availability (≥ 90%). Conclusion: There were more months with medicines in overstock condition, this allows us to conclude that the Cajamarca Regional Teaching Hospital covered the demand for essential medicines for more than six months, which is critical, since there is an excess stock of essential medicines. elderly. probability of risk of expiration or loss.
