Background: Eating disorders (ED) are disturbances in the patient's behavior related to their eating. We observed an increase in cases and exacerbations of ED, a situation described in international studies, attributed to the quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We consider it important to verify if this situation is similar in our reality and context. Objectives: Establish the frequency of eating disorders before, during and after the COVID-19 in a level III hospital in Lima Metropolitana. Material and methods: Retrospective descriptive study. The medical records of patients with any diagnosis of ED, treated in hospital services or in emergency services in the period from 2018 to 2022, were requested. All ED diagnoses included within code F50 of the ICD-10 were searched. The information was subsequently recorded on coded collection sheets. Approval of the protocol was obtained from the ethics committees of the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia and the Hospital Nacional Cayetano Heredia before beginning the study. For the analysis, the Microsoft Excel 2019 program was used. Results: 166 complete medical records were obtained, of which 56.03% corresponded to the post-pandemic period, 10.84% attended during the pandemic and 33.13% to the pre-pandemic period. The diagnosis of AN was the most frequent with 51.81%. Conclusions: The frequency of ED during and post-pandemic constitutes 2/3 of the cases detected in the HCH in the period studied.
