Background: Lumbar pain is a common medical problem around the world. Factors such as parity associated with lumbar pain have been studied in pregnant women. However, it hasn’t yet been studied whether probability is the same after labor. Objective: To determine the association between parity and lumbar pain in mothers of children younger than 6 months. Methods and Materials: An analytical cross-sectional study was conducted. 271 mothers residing in Lima were recruited through a self- report questionnaire. To evaluate the association of lumbar pain and parity, we used the Chi square test and multiple logistic regression analysis was used to control the confounding effect of other variables who the age of the mothers, weight, height, parity, type of job, civil status, type of labour, hernia discal report and urinary incontinence. Results: 191 participants who entered the study. with average age of 28.9, the 60.7% presented lumbar pain, with an average of 5.3 in pain intensity, intermittent pain of 91.4% and average pain intensity similar between the groups of primiparous and multiparous mothers. The p values were greater than 0.05 regarding parity and lumbar pain. Likewise, the mothers with 2 children younger had an ORa of 2.47 in the last month. Conclusion: No association was found between parity and lumbar pain in mothers of children younger than 6 months.
