This research report presents the portfolio of works developed in three courses of the master’s in education with mention in Teaching and Research in Higher Education. These works have in common the reflective analysis of the curricular plan of the academic program of Medical Technology in the specialty of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation by providing a proposal for improvements in higher education training. The reflective critical analysis of the curricular plan of the academic program aims to redesign the training curriculum and implement the improvements with the pertinent update based on the demand of the training as a country, region and the world, and the articulation with the mission, vision of the university, faculty and professional school; considering the relationship with academic objectives, educational objectives and competencies, to propose a new structure by areas: physiotherapy, research and management. Likewise, the graduation profile of the program based on Law 30220 and the accreditation model for the university education study programs of SINEACE are analyzed. Finally, it is proposed to implement simulation-based learning, through high-fidelity simulated clinical scenarios in physiotherapy, creating a safe context that allows the student to develop their cognitive skills for information analysis, clinical decision making, self-efficacy, communication skills and interdisciplinary development.
