Objective: To determine the factors associated with the non-use of modern contraceptive methods in women aged 15 to 49 years in Peru in 2017. Methods: Observational, cross-sectional, retrospective, the unit of analysis being women of childbearing age. The population was women of childbearing age from 15 to 49 years of age, from the Demographic and Family Health Survey 2017, to be part of the sample pregnant women were excluded at the time of the survey. Being the independent variables age, marital status, level of education, work, urbanization, region, number of children you have, pregnancies that did not end, language, number of children living, age of first sexual intercourse, wealth index and the variable dependent use of modern contraceptives. For the bivariate analysis, the Odds Ratio (OR) was used and for the multivariate analysis, multiple logistic regression, evaluating the corresponding assumptions. A confidence level of 95% was used. Results: The use of contraceptive methods in women from 15 to 49 years in Peru was 14,724, being 58.75%. According to the multiple logistic regression (adjusted OR) to the Use of contraceptive method, it is necessary to have a partner; having primary, secondary and higher education; having 3 and 4 or more children living with the mother; According to the wealth index, being poor and middle class decreases the non-use of modern contraceptive methods. On the other hand, the age group 24 - 30 years old, 31 - 38 years old, 39 - 49 years old; not being together with your partner; living in the rest of the coast, sierra, jungle; not having terminated a previous pregnancy; speaking languages like in the mountains, jungle increases the non-use of modern contraceptive methods, after making adjustments with the other variables. Conclusion: According to the multiple logistic regression (adjusted OR) to the Use of contraceptive method, it is found that age, marital status, level of education, work and language increases the probability of not using modern contraceptive methods, after making the adjustments with the other variables.
