The purpose of the study was to distinguish the relationship between executive functions and coping with stress in university students from a private university. Methodologically, it is a basic and correlational investigation, surveying 235 students, 118 men and 117 women, applying to the sample the executive functions questionnaire through behavior observation (EFECO), created in Spain by García- Gómez (2015). ), adapted by Ramos-Galarza et al. (2019) in Ecuador; likewise, the stress coping questionnaire (COPE 60) created by Carver et al. (1989) in the United States and adapted to Lima by Cassuso (1996). For the purpose of the study, construct validity was obtained through exploratory factorial analysis, in both instruments, demonstrating an adequate factorial load that represents all the items. In relation to reliability, it was found through the Cronbach's Alpha coefficient for the total scale α = .980 in the EFECO questionnaire and in the COPE Cronbach's Alpha was obtained for the style focused on the problem α = .980; emotion-focused α = .839; and focused on avoidance α = .847, indicating high reliability in both instruments. The results showed that in the group of men, a significant relationship was found between the supervisory dimension of cognition and supervisory behavior of executive functions with coping styles focused on emotion and focused on avoidance; while, in the case of women, a significant relationship was found between the cognition supervisor and behavior supervisor dimensions with the three coping styles.
