Background: Alcohol use disorder is considered a public-health issue with social, mental, and physical implications. Furthermore, it represents one of the main mortality and morbidity risk factors in Latin America. However, there is lacking data on this disorder in the region. Objectives: To determine the current epidemiological situation of alcohol use disorder in Peru throughout the year 2022. Materials and methods: We conducted a cross-sectional, descriptive study. A database pertaining to ENDES was used. We made use of a single hypothesis test such as bivariate and multivariate logistic regression to find any association between variables. Results: Alcohol use disorder showed a prevalence of 2,9%. Males accounted for 5,0% and females, for 0,9%. As for severity, 1,7% were mild, 0,7% were moderate, and 0,5% were allocated as severe. The mean age was 36 years old. Conclusions: Alcohol use disorder in Peru throughout the year 2022 was more related to being male than female and it was more frequent in the 15-29 years old cluster. Moreover, consumption accounted for more than half of cases in people younger than 18 years old.
