Anemia is a disease considered one of the major public health problems not only with consequences that affect the child but also due to the social, economic and educational impact, generating delays and setbacks in the development of the nation. Objective: determine the effect of the educational intervention on the level of knowledge of iron deficiency anemia in mothers of children from 6 to 35 months who attend the “Dr. Enrique Martin Altuna” - Zapallal Lima Norte -2019. Material and method: quantitative study, pre-experimental and longitudinal design, the population consisted of 43 mothers of children from 6 to 35 months. Data collection was carried out through interviews, and the instrument was a questionnaire that was applied before and after the educational intervention, validated by expert judgment and pilot testing to obtain reliability, the Kuder-Richardson coefficient 20 was used, the result of which was It was 0,80. The instrument consisted of 20 questions with two dimensions on knowledge of anemia from 1 to 11 and knowledge in the preparation of foods rich in iron from 12 to 20. Results: before the educational intervention the level of knowledge of anemia reached a low level with 62,8%, and after the educational intervention they obtained a high level of knowledge of 53,5% Conclusion: the differences found were statistically significant (p=0.000), which allows us to affirm with a confidence level of 95% that the educational intervention was effective.
