Introduction: Surgical training is constantly evolving; one tool for this purpose is Boot Camps. These aim to teach basic techniques in a short time through practical, individualized learning. Objective: To assess the impact of implementing a Surgical Skills Boot Camp for first-year traumatology and orthopedics residents from two hospitals in Lima in June 2022; also, to describe the participants' level of satisfaction. Materials and Methods: Twelve first-year residents were included. The training consisted of three blocks (11 modules): one virtual block (upper limb anatomy, lower limb anatomy, clinical history of traumatology, and radiography interpretation workshop) and two in-person blocks (2 upper limb immobilization techniques, 2 lower limb immobilization techniques, and 3 suture techniques). An assessment was conducted before introducing concepts and another assessment after the intervention. At the end, a survey was conducted to evaluate participant satisfaction. Results: Twelve residents completed the course. Statistically significant improvements in performance post-Boot Camp were observed in seven out of eleven stations (p<0.005). All participants rated the course as Useful or Very Useful, reporting increased knowledge levels and recommending this type of educational strategy. Conclusion: Implementing the Surgical Skills and Basic Procedures Boot Camp for traumatology and orthopedics residents prior to the start of residency had a positive impact.
